The Federal government has announced in the budget an additional $2.7Billion to extend the Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements program.
Under the expanded program, the cap on the number of places will be removed, and the 50% wage subsidy will be paid for newly commencing apprentices for a period of 12 months on sign up until 31 march 2022. The subsidy will be capped at $7000 per quarter per apprentice.
As part of the Boosting Apprenticeships Commencements measures, the Government has announced support for women interested in an apprenticeship in non-traditional trades with the announcement of an additional 5000 places backed up by training and support services.
