About Becoming a Host

How To Become A Host Trainer

Host Trainers are constantly sought to meet the needs of the scheme. Host Trainers must be suitable contractors who are able to provide the apprentice with appropriate supervision and training. They must operate their business in a safe and proper manner.

It’s easy to apply. Simply complete an application form on our website or give us a call. We will provide you with our hourly rates dependent on the individual host’s conditions and forward an agreement to you.

Hosting An Apprentice

Once you are registered as a Host Trainer a phone call is all that is necessary for us to arrange an apprentice. To ensure proper training for the apprentice, a period of approximately three months can be considered as a minimum allocation. Two week’s notice is all that is required to return an apprentice who is no longer needed.

The maximum period that an apprentice can remain with one Host Trainer varies widely and depends on the competency exposure and categories available in the different trade skills. Apprentices often remain with one Host Trainer for the duration of the apprenticeship.

NECA Group Training may also negotiate the movement of an apprentice to ensure appropriate exposure to the various skills required in the trade.
